I just came across you when reading the workshop program of this year's Annual Conference in St. John's, Newfoundland and found the subject you deal with very interesting. And discovered your website and that of Ballyeamon Barn. Well, glad to have found you, I hope to meet and listen to you one day in real life!
Best wishes from old and cold Vienna,
I will meet you in real life
I finally got our interview edited and posted. Here is the blurb. Thanks, Liz.
***** It's a fresh, brand-new Amphitheater moment! One of Ireland’s premier storytellers, Liz Weir, spends some time with the Storyteller.net director for this wide ranging interview recorded in March 2008. Liz talks with Sean about how she chooses a program (or doesn’t), her views of storytelling throughout the world, her work with storytelling as a pathway to peace in Northern Ireland and a variety of other topics. Presented in both Windows Media and MP3 formats. Come listen in when you click on this link now.
How great was it to see your picture on this site. I was lucky to visit Cape Clear with my daughter Emilie two summers ago and we had a wonderful time. Am still learning and growing as a teller, and enjoying it more and more.
I hope to make it to Ballyeamon Barn one day!
Brigitte from Montreal, Canada
Welcome to this site, from someone else on our side of the pond! Hope you are well- its been some time since we last met- possibly at Sidmouth and probabaly at the Festival at the Edge Storytelling Workshops in Shropshire!
I see you have been properly welcomed. I am so glad you are here. I hope you learn to love this site like I do. Such great groups and forum discussions about the things that make a difference in our business and art. Please try to join us in the Marketing Group.. add to our growing list of best practices... peek at me in the Fishbowl... or leap into one of the other excellent groups. Join a discussion.. .just have fun... watching videos or listening to the tellers who have uploaded audio to the pages. Dianne de Las Casas is the person who gave this site to us and it is truly ours to play in... how cool it that?
Sorry I missed you in San Diego I was in Utah--for a wonderful retreat with women relatives, but still. . . . Next time, for sure. Have you been in touch with the people at the Institute for Peace and Justice? I know they'd love what you do!
Seems as if I've known of (heard about, read about) you for the last 2 or 3 years, so I am delighted to finally be able to say 'hello' and welcome to you "personally" (or as close as I'm likely to get) -
You will really enjoy and appreciate this site, and this site will assuredly enjoy and appreciate you, as you are able to share with us a world of wonderful tales and experiences from your career! I look forward to that -
This is an awesome site to explore - just take your time in discovering how much it has to offer you, and virtually every teller around. It's a great place to post photos, videos, audiofiles, create and/or join discussions and/or groups, read/write/study Blogs of all types, etc.
WARNING: Take Your Time - it can be exhausting!
You surely know many of these fine folks, and many surely know you and will delight in your joining us here. I wish you continued fulfillment and success in all you do and, again, send warm greetings and my Welcome to you!
