Hi Buck, I met you at the Christian Storytellers Conference in Normal, IL a couple of months ago and wanted to thank you for your encouragement. That was my first experience of any kind in the "World of Storytelling." The story I worked on in your workshop that you told me needed work but was already a "3 star story" is now 5 stars. It contains such an important message, I really wanted to work on it first. For years I was so emotional about the experience, I could not share it at all. Thanks for helping me see/know/realize I needed to tell this story. When I shared it with my most trusted story listener yesterday, a professional singer, he said, I was, "killing him with that story." Thanks again, Mason Brown
My show ran for 14 years Nov-March, half an hour on Sun eves. I had to get sponsors to pay for the air time and recorded the shows at home onto CD. Recently the station manager told me they want no more paid programming, so no show this year. Fishtrap Storytime is a child of Fishtrap.org, a writer's organization, and we may attach it to our website now. Shame to retire those 120 or so programs.
I am in the dark ages myself about computer stuff...
sorry I have been a little slow out of the station to thank you for your "welcome".
Actually I have been working on a 3 stage plan to introduce a Storytelling Festival here in Dubrovnik, I have already had some excellent advise and encouragement from other members.
I look forward to learning more.
I'm fine - odd sort of day - I had a two day storytelling session in a school that finished today; great fun but tinged with a little sadness. I retired from storytelling today as I have quite severe rheumatoid arthritis and have mobility issues. I can no longer guarantee that I will be able to turn uo on the day. I will still continue to translate Danish folktales - my fifth book comes out in three weeks. I'm on Amazon.
Thanks for the Comment on the Video and would enjoy getting constructive comments on how to improve them if you could. As far as going to the Big Meet this June, I am a school bus driver and that is Summer School plus that weekend I drive Deaf teens to camp for a church. So you can say, I am Booked.
I do not keep up often but it is nice to be a part of the Professiona Storyteller Group. I hope you are doing well this year and continue with your stories. It is a gift for you to give to others and in return you receive the gift of giving. My website is www.jostory.com.
