I'm Back!

Hey ya'll!

Wow! I feel like I haven't been on here in FOREVER. Betweeen school and sports, I've been swamped. Let me get you up to date. First off...I'VE GOT MY FIRST CD!!! "Take One" is my very first CD. It consists of my first 3 original stories. It was recorded live in Columbia, SC. I'm very proud of it.

In October, I was fortunate enough to take part in the Story Night at the National Storytelling Festival. It was one of the highlights of my year.

Ghost Stories for Kids

I am performing at a festival in October that has requested ghost stories for kids. Since I can only tell so many versions of "The Golden Arm", I was wondering if anyone knows any good (possibly funny) ghost stories for kids. Elementary-age and younger is typically who they have. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm Telling in Jonesborough!

Hey ya'll,
All the stars aligned today, and I found out that I'm going to be able to tell at the Thursday night concert at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN. I've been part of the "Youthful Voices" segment at Jonesborough, but this will be the first concert with professional tellers at the NSF that I will be a part of. I can't even describe how excited I am! Hope to see many of you there.

National Storytelling Conference

Hey ya'll,

I just got back from the 2008 National Storytelling Conference in Gatlinburg, TN. Wow! What an awesome event! I was only able to stay for Saturday, but it was still an incredible experience. I got to tell the in South Carolina Showcase and then got to hear numerous tellers from North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, who were all amazing. Also had the oppurtunity to meet some people for the first time (Buck, Dustin, etc.) and see some old friends (Rachel!!!). Hope everyone enjoyed… Continue

I woudl be honored to lend my name to your guitar. This way I can say I am always in tune. Send me a picture and when I see you we will share a song or two.
I believe I just read you will be telling at the pre-concert before the festival in TN, excellent! An honor well deserved.

same here. I hung out with Todd Elliot and Sarah/Rachel Bird. I was nervous for the workshop, but am happy that everyone enjoyed it. Did you attend the Master classes? Are you going to the National Storytelling Festival? Did you ell at the Conference?

Rachel is great and so is Buck. I'm glad you were able to meet so many new people. That means that the Storytelling community is getting bigger :]

Although I'm dreading school, i wish you good luck for the coming year ^^

Your homie,

Hi, Rixon. Nice of you to invite me in. Rivka Willick told me of this site, so I'm a brand spanking newbie! Give me a chance to explore this new universe, and I'll be more fluent with the cyber-geography. I don't get out of my native state much, but I do have Cherokee relatives down your way! So, for your welcome, I say a hearty "Wado!" P.S. You have a great first name, btw. Very catching and memorable...

Congrats on your selection for the National Storytelling Conf. This is a exciting time. Best wishes. The school year starts early in our neck of the woods so I will be gearing up for a fun filled school year of telling all of August. You will do great.
