I crated the song I Love My People, as a mantra to help us battle the apathy and negativity of self hate. I ask, Bemagi Tillman the write the music I heard in my head. I asked Malik Yusef, to help me find the correct rhythm. Maggie Brown added her voice as my Lead signer( I asked her to shadow my voice to make it sound pretty enough for people to want to listen, She brought her sister Africa and I met an Opera Trained concert vocalist who joined, My 5 year old daughter and her friends... .. .. ... .. .. .. .. .. added the sincerity of the children voices. We recorded at Transitions East studios under the direction od Sherman Storey, LEL- and magic occurred... The evening began at 4;30pm, we orderd pizza at 6, we ate and left by 9----

This Past weekend, Jil Ross - Author of "The Shenanigan Series, held her 2nd annual Chicago Read - In - the photographer Freddy ( a 50+ plus year old, artist, swimmer, community friend, been following my work for three years! took pictures and set the rhythm of his photos to my song... I fell blessed..... I will be featured storyteller at NABS - Little Rock Ar November 11-15 - If you can come please come, if not send somebody, or send you love....The song is now under ASCAP thanks to Teju- Baba Jamal, Grndddy June Bug and The BSA of Minnesota.
