Event Description

The Black Warrior Storytelling Festival, Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, 2009, at River Road Park at the base of McCorvey Drive on Jack Warner Parkway in Tuscaloosa, AL. The Festival is a unique event devoted to tradition, culture, and imagination. The festival will kick off on Friday, April 4th at 6:00 pm with six tellers. Beginning at 10 am on Saturday, April 4th, the storytelling festival continues with an open-mic storytelling time and a free workshop for people interested in learning how to tell stories with a deeper sense of meaning and connection with the audience. Storytellers include Bruce Walker, Steven Hobbs, Nina Reeves, Danny Turner and Millie Jackson. The event will conclude at 9 pm on Saturday evening.
