I'm thinking about the power of saying " I'm a storyteller " Yeah, well I also say to myself " how good?" However, what I'm saying to someone I meet is that storytelling is an art. Most often they don't know what a storyteller is. It could be they hear me for the moment saying - I'm going to lie a little or I'm going to tell you about myself or I'm going to bore you with something you didn't ask to hear. But, after the pregnant pause and I don't say anything, they are most times at a loss for a… Continue

I would love to hear more about your festival! Are you planning on coming to the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival Labor Day weekend?

I am so glad you emailed me. We would love to hook up with you and your whole group. Our webmaster is looking into that glitch on our site. In the meantime, contact our state guild secretary, Cherie Davis and she can help you get all signed up. She is part of this storytelling ning.
How many members do you have in the Kanab area? If there's at least three, we could start a new chapter of the Utah Storytelling Guild. That would be awesome. There is a very small group in St. George, but our largest and most active groups are in Utah Valley, Salt Lake Valley and in the Ogden area. Being a part of a larger statewide group is great. We have a newletter, the website (which is being redesigned,) and get together at the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival (August) and Conference (Feb) and we hold a Story Swap in November to gather, tell stories and learn together. We got some great things in the works and would love to have you on board.
Keep me posted,
Wendy
Welcome to PS. You don't sound like a newcomer to me. Stories forged through life are the one's I gravatate towards. Rivka
These are tools that help express the indigenous depths of American-Indian stories. All The Best with discovery of the cedar-flute! It is best to get a feel for the wood and try yellow cedar, white cedar, and of course red-cedar flutes. I also have them made out of birch and elderberry. Tom
It was a pleasure to meet you, if only briefly. I look forward to talking to you more at length about storytelling in Southern Utah. Ogden has been great! I still have 5 days left here. Best Wishes!

Great picture with the sunset in the background. It evokes a campfire tale.
All the best with your telling
