About Me:
Are they storytellers? Are they actors? Yes! It's STORY THEATRE, combining the best of storytelling, improvisational theatre, and audience participation.

The Patchwork Players are storytelling duo James Nelson-Lucas and Patti Christensen. They bring decades of experience in performance, theatre, education, and entertainment.

The Patchwork Players love to gather stories from all over. They gather them from their Scandinavian and Celtic heritage and from other cultures, too. From their real life experiences and imaginations. The world is full of stories and they are always looking for a scrap here and a patch there. A Crazy Quilt of Stories just like your Great Grandmother made. These stories are a patchwork that will keep you thinking and remembering, and will stay with you for years to come.

A Patchwork Player's performance is full of improvisation and plenty of audience participation. They are a high energy, fun, and engaging pair who delight and beguile their audiences. A great choice for all ages and a wide range of settings.

Inspirational, educational, or just plain fun, The Patchwork Players fit the bill. They also entertain audiences with original stories of their true-life adventures and musings from their imaginations. They can customize or create a program or story for your special event.

Both Patti and James are members of the South Coast Storytellers Guild, as well as living and telling stories in northern San Diego County.

Hello - Please tell me about the Florida picture... a storytelling camp?

Good selection of pictures. It will be good to learn more about you and your style of adding drama to stories. I add a lot of energy and drama into my programs. On one hand - I get great audience responses. On the other - I do sometimes so admire the old style tellers who can sit in one spot and get you to see the movement in their eyes and with their voice. But - until I am too old to move - here comes the dramatic telling. Best to you from Normal, Illinois - home of The Normal Storyteller!

Dear Patti and James - thanks for friending me. I'm a long way from Southern California, but I wish I could see one of your shows! - possibly not the one about the giant spider...
