It was Christmas in Lost Prairie, 1982. At the age of 7 Rosemary still believed in Santa Claus. Those were the days before children were forced into growing up before their time, but that was about to end for her. Thankfully, Latigo would not be a knowing part of what was soon to transpire. The Pleasant Valley School is still a few miles down the county road from our home. In the early days the original schoolhouse actually stood on the corner of our property, that being in the 1920's through t… Continue

I was between ships back then, and I was a bit tired of sailing anyway. I joined the service at 17 after the service I went to work for MSTS, American President Lines, Lykes Brothers Lines and Standard Oil Company. I'd been all over the world by that time and I'm going to leave a bunch of holes in my early history. Too long to relate here...... but suffice it to say I was tired of being at sea all the time, so........ I signed off and went ashore to find a job to occupy my time. By this time I w… Continue

The Lost Prairie Chronicles #16 She was an exhuberant new-born, but from the day she was placed into that Walker...... she earned her Nom de Guerre ..... Spitfire. Sitting in the easy chair reading a book, I could hear the squeak-squeak of the little wheels as she scuttled across the hardood floor on her way to the forbidden world of the Coffee Table. The Coffee Table..... a place where all things of mystery were kept. Glass candy bowl, magazines, nail clippers, coffee mug, pencils and all the s… Continue

The Lost Prairie Chronicles #13 ___________________________________ A Love Affair The middle of January is always cold in Lost Prairie, and at 5am and 5 degrees this particular morning was no exception. Lyn Bundled up, pulled on her gloves, wrapped her scarf around her neck up to her eyes and trudged to the barn through the deep, newfallen snow. It wasn't much warmer in the barn, but the audible lowing of recognition warmed her heart. Posie was a gorgeous mix of Brown Swiss and Jersey, and her… Continue

The Lost Prairie Chronicles #12, a side trip. I wrote this for my Daughter when a teacher and her peers criticized her for being a part of the shooting sports community. The professed premise for their additude revolved around "the children"...., a usual refuge for this sort of misplaced logic and lack of understanding real-life circumstances and events. Having children with "them" in the house. Prologue: By the age of 5 Tommy was convinced that his dad was hiding something very special in t… Continue

Meantime, carry on - who knows where this all may lead? Please keep me posted -
Best to you and yours,

Wow, you guys do great work - I did a quick run through your website and it is, indeed, very impressive. Graphics Illustrator and Studio Sound Engineer = a VERY interesting combination.
I see by the pic of you on your horse that you don't spend your spare time in the city, and I trust you are appropriately thankful for that.
This is an awesome site, and I think you will really enjoy it - but, I'm not certain (not that it matters) what the connection is - are you a teller, a listener, a supporter, or any/all of these? You are welcome, regardless!
I don't have a horse outside, but I do have grass growing out there that your horse would enjoy, so I'd best go do some mowing.
Again, glad to have you - Welcome!
Best,
Tom Taylor (Deep in the Heart of Texas)
