At last, two weeks into my Story telling course...

Hello Storytellers, Well its been two weeks that I have been here at Emerson. Settled in reasonably well and getting used to the early starts and long days. Emerson College is a very small college, when full it only has about 200 students - full and part time. Our day starts with singing at 8.30 am until 845, then we all go off to class. Our group, the storytelling group have a session of voice warm ups, and games - all supporting storytelling work, listening games, and recitation and workin… Continue

Yet another fresh start...

Well now, I am standing here at the next turn in my life, at 55 I am looking at starting a storytelling career, and wondering how it will all work out. I always loved telling stories from my head to my children, and I also believe that stories can offer much in the arena of therapy, however, for the moment that is not a direction I want to go - though the pull is strong, I'm not emotionally tough enough to deal with anyone elses pain.. Little Feather, Swift River...

Sunshine, dripping like honey from the brimming sky, falling gently to caress the green green grass. A warm flair of delight ran through Little Feather as he lay on the green grass, watching the wanderings of the tiny spider, slowing creeping up the grass stem just in front of his n… Continue

Removing the mask...

High up, lit by the glow of a thousand stars stood a tall tree – its branches strong, firm and filled with the life giving flow of wood sap. From within the wood heart of the tree, there seemed to come a sound – life leavening, heart strengthening, a singing such as no being had ever heard. Hanging like fruits from the branches masks of every hue, in rainbow colours Green wood, silver metalled, bronze branched, diamond sharp faced. So many emotions, such character, full faced, half faced,… Continue

Spirit of peace

Listen...... Reach out in the void of light and find the senses, smooth lightening soft breathing, peace bringing, never endingly gentle, like silver water flowing off the end of a moon beam, shaking the dream light gently onto the soul, waking the spirit with smiling joy that… Continue

Welcome ! I noticed you live in Winchester? Many years ago I traveled through the UK from way south (Winchester,Bath) to Orkeny Islands by BritRail and hitchhiking. I stopped at Winchester where I spent hours sketching and painting the side of Winchester, Cathedral, so dark yet some bright flowers, in startling contrast held me entranced.
