About Me:
We have been telling stories tandem and solo since 1979. Tandem telling is two or more tellers sharing one story. Here we bring together our experience with solo telling, improvisation, story theatre, and cooperative recreation, all of which we also teach. Sandy also teaches ESL. Tom sells children's books.

We are active in Quaker Meetings, Kiwanis service projects, and Alternatives to Violence Project. We manage the quakerstorytellers.org web-site.

Our first CD, Words to the Wise, was released 11/20/2003. It contains twelve wisdom tales from original and traditional sources selected for ages eight through adult.

Our second CD, Words Go Questing, was released 2/18/2005. It contains seven tales of seeking and finding [six short and one much longer mythic fairy tale in two parts] also selected for ages eight through adult.

Both CDs can be purchased on-line at CD Baby.

Sandy and Tom, how fun and nice to see you on this web source, I find this Ning quite friendly and inspiring - thanks, being my friend here and in our Bay Area committee of storytellers. Check out the Storytelling website I listed on my page, finally got the Gala and the story you told in the mix of 'comic life'.

I know many Quakers in Argenta, BC, Canada, but have not attended any meetings myself. I hold them all in the highest respect. I will check out your quakerstorytellers site. Thanks.

Thanks for the invite, Tom and Sandy! I believe I saw that you two are leading another storytelling related workshop at Annual Gathering this year (or is my feeble mind making it all up?) I remember fondly attending the performances of your workshop members in Amherst. We won't be there this go-round, but Bill and I are joining the planning committee for Annual Gathering 2009, which will be at Blacksburg, Va., (Virginia Tech) again. You're such a gift to all of us!

Thanks for your note. Yes, stories are examples, deep teaching about these important topics, presented in a way that people can really take it in. Wonderful work.

What part of CA are you in? I grew up in Pasadena and most of my family is still in CA.

"Dry Clean Only" . . . that's hysterical! WHO came up with that?

Welcome, Tom and Sandy!

You'll love this place, even tho' there are some here who are "soakin' wet," if y'follow my drift. I'm one of'em, and started the biblical telling group Steve mentioned earlier - and, he's right: we'd love to have you join us!

Sorry I didn't greet you earlier, but I've been out of pocket and off-line since noon Thursday (TX Storytelling Festival).

You've got lots of friends on this site, and you'll meet lots of new friends, too. Take a while to check out all the bells and whistles on the place - contact any of us for help, or go to the FAQ Group, who may've already answered your question.

We are so delighted you're here, you two have so much to teach and share with us - as Buck said, please post some audiofiles so we can hear a bit of what you do.

Long day, early work tomorrow, so I'm signing off - but, before I do that, I want to say again how glad we are to have you with us, how I look forward to your sharing with us, that I wish you the very best and, again, send a warm Welcome to the both of you!

Sincerely,

Tom Taylor

Greetings and welcome to this great site! I hope you enjoy it!

What a fascinating profile you have! I look forward to leaning more about the two of you and what you do.

I see you've already joined the Tandem group, but there are a couple of others you might consider as well: the Biblical Storytelling group, and the group Applied Storytelling: the Power of Stories. I would love to see you active in both and learn from your insights and experiences!

Best wishes to you both! STEVE

Hi there Tom and Sandy!

Welcome to the site! What an interesting pair you two make. I would love to hear you tell. Although I'm relativity new to the site as well, I have found it quite useful.

Until our stories bring us together...
