About Me:
Daniel Bishop the Storyteller loves stories of all kinds. Whether he’s spooking campers around a fire, spinning a yarn for his daughter, performing in a play, or mulling over the plot for a movie, he’s always expressing his passion for the oldest of all entertainments – the story. Daniel shares this passion around the region at festivals, schools, resorts, libraries, private residences, and more. Choose a pre-prepared show, or work with Daniel to build your own. With a menu of campfire, ghost, children’s, and personal stories as well as folklore and legends, fairy tales with flair, and histories he’s sure to have stories for every age and every occasion. Each show can be tailored for your event, and Daniel is eager to learn a new story at your request. He is always on the hunt for a new story to tell and a new way to tell it. When he tells, a little of that excitement is bound to rub off on the most jaded listener (even teenagers). Using only voice and gesture, Daniel draws upon his training in theatre at Utah State University to captivate the imagination. He aims to magically transport audiences back to a simpler day when special effects weren’t needed to make them feel a part of a story. If you long for those by-gone days of swapping tales around the campfire, let Daniel bring that campfire feeling to an event near you.

Daniel, you have great energies! WOW! Are you building your own website or do you have help. I'm just learning the web and what is out here. I enjoy the Professional.ning --> and all the profiles! Much safer and less complicated than myspace or YouTube, Can we be friends? Interesting to see what you are doing! Jean Ellisen and I do Spooky Tales in Berkeley Botanical Gardens. Check out the website listed. I did name a few stories.

Hi Daniel,
Rachel told me about you. I hear you love ghost stories like I do. I just recently got my Bell Witch book, a poltergeist tal, published in March of 2008. That was the thrill of my life. You can get more information about my book at my website of http://www.bellwitchunveiled.com. I have a Rumors & Facts page set up where people can share their actual experiences with ghosts and poltergeists. Have you ever had such an experience? I have listed some. I will list more in my blog as time goes on. In any case, I love your page. I just signed up tonight, so I will fix my page up more as time goes on.

Have a great day!

Best Wishes,
Debbie Dunn aka DJ Lyons

Hey Daniel,
sorry to take so long to get back to you - finding time is my biggest challenge right now - but - my response is word of mouth, word of mouth, word of mouth - make sure people see your work - good work speaks for itself and brings work to you .I love the national work - especially festivals - but with the hassles of air travel am working regionally as much as I can. Very early in my performing career a mentor/director said to me - "don't worry about being the best - you want to be the only" - those words have stuck with me in thinking about what makes my work unique and how to communicate that....hope this is helpful. Yours,
Bill

Hi Daniel, I wish I could give you 3 pointers that make all the difference. But being a "national" storyteller means you are simply in a larger region. If you appear at various festivals, you will need to have an ever-expanding repertory of stories, but it looks as if you are already working on that. I feel that the maturing storyteller is able to be relaxed and present at any given performance, in a listening mode: ready to find the right story to contribute. That means, letting go of any expectation that you will do such-and-such when it is your turn. You must always ask yourself: what is the best story for me to contribute to this performance in terms of content, theme, pace, mood, etc..
Stay in touch!

Daniel,
Thanks very much for asking about how to get my books. I've written four ghost stories books. Two are published and the other two are at the publisher. I can ship you copies or you can get them on Amazon. I'm happy to meet another lover of ghostly tales!
